Many of you who know me understand that I’ve lost a significant amount of weight over the last few years. It was hard but totally worth it. And, in the last several years I’ve been mentoring some of my friends to do what I did. Take your time and get it right for your body. Everyone is different! What worked for me could work for you, or maybe it needs to be adjusted for your specific circumstances.
Either way I like to give some wisdom nuggets when I can to help my fellow friends in the struggle.
When it comes to holidays and food opportunities, here are a few things I do to make sure I don’t overeat.
· Stay hydrated: Hydrated people don’t overeat so easily
· Eat before you go: If my stomach already has something in it before I arrive, I don’t eat as much while I’m there. This helps a lot when you arrive and everything smells so good.
· Don’t Stay: You don’t have to stay for the WHOLE PARTY! You can come late or leave early if it helps you stay on track.
· Find Activity: Swim, walk around the area, play cards or whatever games are happening so you can stay out of the kitchen.
· Gotta Bring something? - Bring plates and Cups etc. so you’re not cooking and tasting food all day! Or you could bring a dish that you can eat without guilt! Like a fruit bowl or salad.
